The roof leak above room
218 in May Whitney was patched by All American Roofing on
Monday August 31, 2009. The leak was coming from a very
small seam that was not glued properly during the roof
replacement in early August. There are no asbestos
materials or lead paint in the area where the roof leak
occurred.
May Whitney Roof Leak Update August
28 We had a roof leak
at May Whitney in Room 218. The leak occurred in the area where the
recent roof repair section met the old roof. A ceiling tile was damaged
and some water seeped into the ballast of the lighting fixture. There
is no lead paint in the ceiling above the drop ceiling of this room nor
is there any asbestos pipe insulation above the drop ceiling in this
room. A bucket was placed under the leak above the drop ceiling to
catch any further leakage. The student desk below the leak was moved.
Roofers cannot address this issue while it is raining and the area need
to dry out first. The roofers will be on site first thing Monday
morning, weather permitting.
May
Whitney Lead Paint Update #2 On Friday 8/21/09, AR Remediation Corp., our lead paint consultant
tested numerous ceilings in May Whitney for lead paint. All of the
ceiling that were painted tested negative for lead paint. A number of
other ceilings were inspected and found to be concrete or metal-pan
ceiling.
